Remembering My Mom: A Tribute Two Years Later

Losing my mom two years ago changed everything. Her absence created a void that I could never have imagined, yet her love and memory continue to shape my life in profound ways. As I reflect on these past two years, I’m reminded of the strength we find in grief and the power of connection with others who are also navigating loss.

Life Without Her: The Void and the Love

The days after my mom passed felt surreal. I missed her in countless ways, but nothing compared to the absence of our daily conversations—those morning chats during my commute to work and our check-ins throughout the day. Her voice was my grounding force, her wisdom my compass, and her laughter my comfort.

Grief, I’ve learned, is not about “moving on” but about learning to live with love in a different form. My mom is still with me, woven into the fabric of my life through her advice, her favorite traditions, and the way she made everyone around her feel special.

Honouring Her Memory

Honouring my mom has been one of the most healing aspects of my grief journey. Small acts, like cooking her favourite meals or replaying her cherished songs, bring her presence back to me in moments when I miss her most.

For anyone grieving, finding ways to honor your loved ones can be deeply comforting. This could mean creating a photo album, planting a tree in their memory, or journaling your favorite moments together. These acts allow us to carry their essence forward, keeping their memory alive in our daily lives.

Navigating Grief: You Are Not Alone

If you’ve experienced loss, you know grief is a deeply personal and nonlinear journey. It’s filled with moments of sorrow, reflection, and even joy as you recall the love you shared. But one truth remains: no one should grieve alone.

This is why I created The Grieving Gracefully Circle, a community where those who are grieving can come together to share their stories, find support, and navigate healing. In this space, we honour our loved ones, share our journeys, and build strength from one another.

If you’re seeking connection or need support, I encourage you to join us. Grief is heavy, but it becomes lighter when carried together. Click here to join The Grieving Gracefully Circle.

To My Mom, with Love

Mom, you are missed beyond words. You were my rock, my confidante, and my best friend. Though you’re not here in the way I wish, your love continues to guide me every day. I see you in the little things—a warm sunrise, a familiar scent, a song we both loved.

To everyone grieving a loved one this season, I see you. I stand with you. Grief may shape our lives, but it cannot erase the love that remains. Let’s lean on one another, honour those we’ve lost, and embrace the strength their love gave us.

Forever in my heart,
Kelly
